Lynn T. White

Lynn T. White is Professor of Politics and International Affairs, Emeritus, Senior Scholar, Princeton University in New Jersey. He has taught in the Political Science Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and was associated with the university's Center of Chinese Studies. His interests tend to be political and musical.

Although his seven single-author and six edited books are mostly about local politics in East Asia, he has also written about the similar political logics that former slave Frederick Douglass and apartheid martyr Steve Biko invoked to appeal for universal support while never forswearing the present effect on identity that former hurts caused.

Mr. White sang under Milton Williams in the U.C. Berkeley “Monks” chorus, and he blogged about Metropolitan Opera free streams during the COVID 19 season.
