Clayton R. Nichols

Dr. Clayton R. Nichols, Technical Advisor to the ITA Board

His academic, industry, and management experience focuses on the geosciences, with emphasis on volcanology, geothermal Energy, and global ice coring for climate change research. He served as Ranger/Naturalist working for the National Park Service, Old Faithful Visitors Center, Yellowstone National Park. His degrees include Geological Engineering, and a Ph D in Geoscience.

Dr. Nichols is a certified Nuclear Engineer and managed nuclear waste cleanup programs for the US Dept. of Energy. He served as a Member, Board on Earth Sciences and Resources (BESR), National Research Council of the National Academies, and was the Chairperson of its Committee on Earth Resources: (2004-2006).

As a member of a musical family, he is a lifelong participant in vocal music and music theater.
